PLEASE
DISTRIBUTE TO ALL YOUR TEAMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
I think there was a
little problem this weekend involving referees keeping scoresheets.
Basically, referees are required to fill out game reports for all game
misconduct and match penalties (as well as other serious infractions).
Sometimes the referee is doing multiple games and has to put off his
report until later. Other times, the referee has finished making his
penalty assessments, but continues to hold the scoresheet while he makes
notes from the scoresheet. We have had several complaints over the last
few weekends from managers who say that they have had to wait too long for
the scoresheet...not to mention the tension and problems it can cause in
the hallways!
To remedy this
situation, I informed the Referee in Chief that the referees were free to
keep a copy of the scoresheet in this situation, provided that they notify
the home team manager that they need to keep a copy!
The home and
visiting team will still have a copy for each of them as well as the white
copy for the league. It really doesn't matter which color, but the league
statistician would like the referee to keep the pink copy if one
is needed.
Some referees
mistakenly believed that they were to keep a copy from all of their
games. This is incorrect and will be corrected throughout the week. If
any team was deprived of a copy of their scoresheet this week, please let
us know and we will fax you a copy as soon as we receive the white copy.
We apologize for the confusion.
