Match Penalty Reporting Requirements

October 18, 2003

Distribution:  Team Managers

CAHA rule 8.4 states that ALL teams are required to promptly notify the CAHA 1st Vice President or his or her designee of any match penalties, any incident involving assault on referees or officials or any incident involving spectators that occurs during a game in which the team participates, whether such game occurs within CAHA jurisdiction or not.  Such notification will be in writing and must be submitted by the team within 48 hours after such incident or penalty occurs if within the State of California.  Such notification must be submitted within 48 hours after the team returns to California if the infractions occurred outside the State.  At the same time, copies of this documentation must be submitted to the CAHA Youth Committee Chairperson or his/her designee.

We have had several match penalties thus far and I know that CAHA was not informed about most of them.  Please make sure your managers know the process!

I would also say that the requirement is the same for SCAHA.  Since we review all match penalties that occur B-AA within our league, it is prudent to copy me at the same time.
