Bob Doherty informed the board that John Silberstein will be sending the presidents an email requesting club documentation (bylaws, financial contracts, list of board of directors, etc.) with a deadline to submit.
Bob Doherty read from a letter he will be sending to the presidents regarding team movement and LOIs. If a team changes level of play prior to the season, then the players’ LOIs are void unless they wish to play at the different level.
Bob Doherty informed the board that three clubs have yet to submit their roster for the season. The deadline to submit the rosters has come and gone.
Deputy Commissioner’s Report Sandy Blumberg urged the presidents to send reminders to their coaches that penalty minutes in preseason do count. Sandy asked to speak to a Bakersfield representative at the end of the meeting.
Sandy Blumberg asked the presidents to inform the scorekeepers to make sure to print the names of the on ice officials on the game score sheet at the start of the game.
LAHOA Report Norm Kitano informed the board that the officials are being instructed to initial next to their name at the end of the game. Norm Kitano advised the board that they are requiring their supervisors to attend at least two club meetings. In addition, the supervisors are required to do an evaluation of officials working games in each of the divisions in the respective clubs. This will serve as a teaching tool.
LAHOA uploaded the game schedule into their program. Norm asked the presidents to send him the name and contact of a club representative (could be the president or ice convener) so that they may be able to give them a log on to their program. This will serve as an extra set of eyes to verify that their home games have officials scheduled.
Staff ReportsMember Services – Wendy Goldstein distributed the player fee charts. The amounts were calculated using the preliminary rosters received.
Make sure your coaches are screened and on the compliance list when you add them on supplemental rosters. Also, player-ups are due. The player-up forms must be submitted prior to them playing.
Ice Convener – Chris Carcerano informed the board he was receiving rescheduling requests from teams planning to go to holiday tournaments during the January 2-3 weekend and asking for byes. Chris stated SCAHA based its selection of playing weekends to mirror those of the CAHA mandated weekends. As you know SCAHA rules prohibit rescheduling at the A/B level. At the Tier II level only, rescheduling is permitted. Tier II rescheduled games must be played within 30 days.
There are a couple of Girls’ teams that need to be removed from the preseason schedule because of a CAHA blackout weekend.
The players needed/ wanted list is being updated. Please send him any updates and he will post on the SCAHA web site.

A.C.E. Coordinator Nancy Hodge asked the board to send her the names of their ACE Coordinators. She has only received information from two clubs. Nancy stated there is a level 1, 2 and 3 at the end of the month, September 25, 26 and 27th at Glacial Gardens, Lakewood.
