Robert Doherty called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
Minutes Bridget Hopkinson motioned to approve the minutes of the January 13, 2010 meeting. (motion SECONDED and PASSED)
Commissioner’s Report Bob Doherty informed the board that SCAHA has not received any nominations for the positions of Commissioner and/or Deputy Commissioner. Bob Doherty and Sandy Blumberg will be running again for the positions. Bob Doherty informed the board that he would like to designate the next meeting as the SCAHA “annual meeting.” The Rule changes will be voted on at the April meeting in lieu of the March meeting. Bridget Hopkinson motioned to designate the March meeting as the SCAHA annual meeting. (motion SECONDED and PASSED)
At the next meeting, the Tri-County Penguins will be petitioning to join SCAHA. The board will be asked to vote on their application. Bob Doherty informed the board about the CAHA Adult tournament that is being held April 23-25th in San Jose. Socal adult teams are encouraged to participate. The NHL Kings would like us to promote the NHL Draft that is being hosted by the Kings. As soon as Bob receives information he will distribute. Bob Doherty introduced Chris Bain, LA Kings Fan Development. Chris Bain spoke about the Mite In-House Tournament the Kings will be hosting on March 14. This event is free and interested parties should go to the Kings web site for more details. In addition, Chris informed the board of the Kings’ Youth Hockey Day on April 8.
Deputy Commissioner’s Report Bob Doherty reported on behalf of Sandy Blumberg who was absent. Bob Doherty stated that the single game fee was the only item left to review. Some clarification regarding the time frame for a single game fee is defined as “more than 30 minutes between scheduled games (time to be calculated from the end of game to the start of the next game).” Bridget Hopkinson motioned to define the single game fee applicable to games scheduled with more than 30 minute lapses between games. (motion SECONDED and PASSED)
Tables 3 and 4 from the LAHOA contract presented at the January SCAHA meeting that were tabled were not reviewed and/or discussed.
Bob Doherty stated that the Rules Committee needs volunteers. Those interested are to email Sandy Blumberg.
LAHOA/SDHRA Report Norm Kitano thanked the SCAHA board for the gift his family received for the birth of his new baby. Norm Kitano stated that LAHOA is open to suggestions and/or comments to better the association and the quality of the officials. He also stated that he is looking for feedback on schedulers as well.
Staff ReportsMember Services – Wendy Goldstein informed the presidents that she will need the credential packets for all teams advancing to the SCAHA playoffs by March 3. The credential packets include, certified roster, score sheet stickers (12 for Mites and 15 for Squirts teams and higher) and separate checks for each of the teams advancing. She will also require contact info for the head coaches and managers of each team.
The SCAHA Playoff fees are: · Mite A - $1025 · All others - $1275
The credential packets need to be mailed to Wendy Goldstein. The delinquency list starts on April 15. The letters must be sent to the delinquent families by April 15, 2010. The temporary releases are needed through to April 30, 2010.
Ice Convener – Chris Carcerano stated that all the playoff venues will be posted on the SCAHA web site. For teams to be in good standing all forfeiture fees must be paid and up to date.
Statistician – No report at this time.
Treasurer’s Report Bob Driffill distributed the financial statements to the board. Any questions, please contact Bob Driffill. Bob Driffill asked for the clubs who owed outstanding player fees to see him after the meeting.
Parliamentarian John Silberstein reiterated that club presidents’ must ensure that all adults who come into routine conduct with minors complete the CAHA screening requirements.

Old Business Kevin Culbertson distributed the balance of the CHAMPS patches.
