Guest Speaker
Jeff Liebel, Jaguar board of director presented a fundraising opportunity
for clubs/teams to participate in. He distributed a handout with all the
prizes listed. He explained
how the fundraiser worked; selling raffle tickets. The grand prize is
the 2010 Olympic Team
George Bock, Chief Operating Officer for ZenoLink. A handout was
distributed to the board. ZenoLink is fundamentally a software company
that measures sport performance using 3-D analysis.
James Cefaly, Kings Fan Development spoke briefly about Hockey fest on
Commissioner’s Report
Bob Doherty reminded the
board that there are only 4 preseason games this season and SCAHA will
be reviewing the results of the first three preseason games to determine
the level of play for teams.
There is a CAHA Youth
Council meeting on
Deputy Commissioner’s Report
Sandy Blumberg stated that many of the Tier II teams
are not complying with the rules of submitting score sheets and the
process of submitting them in. Bob Doherty reminded the board that there
is a USA Hockey rule to have Locker room attendants.
LAHOA Report
Norm Kitano informed the board that they have one
last official seminar on September
Staff Reports
Member Services
– Sandy Blumberg reported on behalf of Wendy Goldstein. Rosters must be
submitted before any preseason games are played. They were due August 27th.
She is still missing rosters from some of the clubs. Player-ups must be
submitted before any preseason games are played. Player fees are $30 per
player including Tier I players. No fees for coaches. Bob Doherty
reiterated for the clubs not to roster coaches who do not have the
proper levels and who are not screened.
Ice Convener –
Chris Carcerano informed the board that he has one conflict in the A/B
games and he is correcting it. In addition, Chris reiterated rule 26.04
that states that all clubs must disclose their ice cost in order to
facilitate collection of forfeited games and the like. In addition,
Chris emphasized rule 26.11 regarding Tier II rescheduling. The process
is: 1- make sure the league is notified immediately; 2- the opponent is
notified and 3- the officials’ scheduler is notified. Please remind your
Tier II managers to familiarize themselves of this rule. The new game
must be rescheduled within one week of the original date and the game
must be played within 30 days of the original date.
Treasurer’s
Report
Bob Driffill informed the board that he has not yet received the
statements from the bank and will have the financial statements next
month. Bob Driffill reminded the board to get their player fees in.
Kevin Culbertson reminded the board that financial assistance
scholarship applications are due
A.C.E. Coaching Coordinator Report
Nancy Hodge informed the board that there are coaching clinics posted on
the USAH
web site for Oct. 2 (Level 1 & 2) and Oct. 9 (Level 3) at the
The next series of coaching certification clinics Level 1, 2 and 3 will be
held in
the online game summary and to send her the score sheets.
Old Business
Bob Doherty informed the board, for players that have outgrown their
jerseys and need CHAMPS patches to replace previous patches, please
contact SCAHA.
